I, like a disproportionate number of black women, am afflicted by enormous very symptomatic fibroids tumors (my largest tumor is 20cm – a five month uterus) and have been told by physicians that a hysterectomy may be in my future. I am not willing to accept that, especially since the information was given in such a cavalier and dismissive manner.
Dr. Vicki Hufnagel (L.A. & Mexico), a physician and female advocate who wrote the book No More Hysterectomies and most recently No More Menopause performs a groundbreaking alternative surgery for women with large and/or inoperable fibroids - Female Reconstructive Surgery (FRS) - geared to preserve the uterus. http://www.frscenter.com/frscenter.asp #323/874-5530 #323/874-5532.
She is a controversial figure who has had her medical license in the United States revoked, and still continues to receive a lot of animus for simply saying women shouldn’t necessarily have hysterectomies for fibroid tumors and other benign female conditions. Hufnagel does not believe a woman's uterus is a disposable organ.
However, she continues to practice in Mexico and offer her ground breaking Female Reconstructive Surgery (FRS) to women so they can preserve their uterus.
I am considering having the FRS performed this month because I am very ill and I want my life to return to normal; I was hoping you would be interested in following my story’s success as a documentary.
Dr. Hufnagel allows her procedure to be videotaped.
Is this something that is possible?? I thank you for your consideration.

Too many women are having unnecessary hysterectomies AND NOT being fully informed about the consequences of the procedures being recommended for fibroid tumors!
My Story:
I am a small frame (size 6) and I have fibroid tumors the size of a 5-month uterus. I am in a great deal of pain daily - the fibroids press on my spine as well as many of my internal organs (kidneys, bladder and colon); and have caused other secondary medical problems which renders me very weak and tired all of the time. I am severely anemic from blood loss (continual bleeding since March 2007) and blood pooling (which according to the doctor has my life at cardiac risk); shortness of breath; high blood pressure (something I have never had in my entire life), loss of ovarian function from tumor compression; hydronephrosis (kidney infections); and emotional stress. These tumors started out small and it seems at some point began to grow at a rapid pace to the point where my stomach has just ballooned.
The Surgery:
Because of the enormity of my tumors, surgery is my only alternative. Female Reconstructive Surgery is an innovative procedure that preserves the uterus (including childbearing abilities). One incision is made to the uterus, and laser technology is used to cut and cauterize the tumors. FRS lessens the chances that adhesions will occur after surgery, and ensures that all the tumors are removed and not just those easily seen on the surface. FRS also has a much shorter recovery and complication rate compared to the traditional medical procedures - myomectomy, UAE and hysterectomy. In addition, FRS is the only bloodless technique.
The common myomectomy requires several cuts to the uterus, and only the largest tumors are removed leaving the smaller ones to grow requiring future surgical procedures to remove the remaining tumors. A woman's chances of having a successful pregnancy are questionable and in my case highly questionable because of the size of my tumors.
UAE is also not and option because of my tumors' vastness. UAE would only result in a minimal reduction in size, no removal of the tumors and follow-up surgical procedures are very likely. Again pregnancy is questionable after this procedure especially in light of the fact that the tumors still remain in the uterus.
A hysterectomy is definitely not an option because I have not had children. I do not want to lose that ability - FRS is the only procedure that comes closest to preserving my ability to conceive.
Hufnagel is a true female advocate who has performed Female Reconstructive Surgeries for many years but not enough women know about her. She is the best in her field - there is no other surgeon that specializes in the complete removal of all of the tumors. I truly believe this woman will change (& maybe save) my life and enable me to live like a normal person again. Dr. Hufnagel is so confident in her work and the countless benefits it provides to women that she even allows observers to the surgery and her procedures to be video taped.
I DESPERATELY need this surgery and I am inviting you to follow my story. I thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
